Jan. 14 2009 - Babies & Books: Newborn to First Steps
Location: Children’s Program Room
Designed with our youngest library patrons in mind, Babies and Books is a multi-sensory learning experience for newborns to 17 months old.

Jan. 17-18, 2009 - Winter Games of Texas
Location: Various venues around Frisco
The Winter Games of Texas is a celebration of amateur athletes hosted by the Frisco Convention & Visitors Bureau in partnership with the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation and the City of Frisco. Olympic hopefuls and recreational athletes come from parts of Texas near and far to participate in one or more of the 13 sports featured at venues throughout Frisco.
This family-friendly sports festival is patterned after the real Olympics. Last year’s event drew more than 3,500 athletes from cities around the state as well as thousands of family members, spectators, and volunteers. Jan. 17, 2009 - Meet the Olympians and Be an Olympian
Location: Woga Gymnastics Center, Frisco
Come spend an exciting evening learning about the world of gymnastics from 5pm to 8.30pm. Meet WOGA owners and Olympians, Valeri Liukin and Yevgeny Marchenko as well as Olympic All-Around Champion, Nastia Liukin. Come watch performances by WOGA Team Gymnasts, enter raffles for discounts, apparel and autographed photos of Nastia and come experience our world class equipment. We will be providing food, beverages plus registration discounts. This will be a fun event for the whole family to enjoy.
Jan. 31, 2009 - Free Dog Sled Rides
Location: Frisco Bay Marina
Join us for free dog sled rides from 2 - 5 pm at the Marina from Alpine Dog Sledding. Then stay and warm up by the community fire and fireworks display. For more information on Alpine Dog Sledding call 970-668-5547.
Jan. 31, 2009 - Community Bonfire
Location: Frisco Bay Marina
Join us to celebrate our community next to the biggest bonfire in the county. The event starts at dusk with fireworks at 6:45pm. The Summit Nordic Ski Club will be selling beer and drinks to warm your soul and raise money for their team. Children and Pets are welcome. No outside Alcohol. Feb. 1, 2009 - 39th Annual Frisco Gold Rush Weekend
Location: Frisco Nordic Center
Join us at Colorado’s oldest XC Ski & Snowshoe event - the Frisco Gold Rush hosted by the Town of Frisco and the Frisco Nordic Center.

Feb. 13, 2009 - Book signing for Remembering Texas Stadium
Location: Upper level, near JCPenney/Dick’s Sporting Goods
As Dallas prepares to say good-bye to Texas Stadium, Cowboy fans are invited to stop by the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop and visit with Drew Pearson and Frank Luksa, two area sports figures, who have written a book in tribute the Metroplex’s famous football arena. Feb. 22, 2009 - Frisco Triathlon Club  5pm
Location: YMCA-Main (Main/Teel), Frisco
Whether you are a seasoned triathlete or new to the sport, there is a place for you! We invite you to attend our inaugural meeting. Our mission is to provide training companionship, support in competition, and encouragement in meeting goals for the triathletes of Frisco.
